Moose Jaw Athletes Headed Off To Canada Winter Games
Seven Moose Jaw and area athletes will compete as part of the 217 athletes in 20 sports that Team Saskatchewan is sending to the 2023 Canada Winter Games later this month.
The local athletes competing are:
Kaycee Nord from Bushell Park will be competing in biathlon. Biathlon combines cross country skiing with shooting.

Eric Swalm from Moose Jaw will be representing Saskatchewan in Figure Skating.
Brownlee's own Rowan Gray will be competing in Figure Skating.
Former Moose Jaw Minor Hockey product - Mavericks and Warriors - Brooklyn Nimegeers and now a member of the Regina Rebels U18 AAA female team will be part of the Team Saskatchewan female hockey team.

Moose Jaw and area is well represented in Judo.
Three Moose Jaw and area athletes are part of Team Saskatchewan competing in Judo.
The Moose Jaw athletes are Avery Gibney and Paxton Nelson.

Kolbi Fenric from Pense will be competing in Judo.
On the management side of the sport Destiny Gibney will serve as one of Team Saskatchewan's Judo coaches and William Wiens is the manager for the group.
Verna Kergan will be the head coach for Team Saskatchewan's Speed Skating team.
Brennan Renovsky will serve as part of Team Saskatchewan's mission staff.
The 2023 Canada Winter Games run from February 18 - March 5 at various venues throughout Prince Edward Island.
