City Hall Hours To Be Extended May 31st

There was both good and bad in an announcement from City Hall.

If you were hoping the hours for City Hall to be open to the general public would be extended you are in luck. If you were hoping the hours would go back permanently to what are considered the “normal hours” of 8:30 am to 5 pm then you are not in luck.

The City has announced effective May 31st the new permanent hours City Hall will be open to the public is between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. every weekday (excluding statutory holidays). Calls to City Hall will still be answered by staff between 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on weekdays.

At the present time City Hall is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every weekday excluding statutory holidays.

“Operations at all of our facilities have been impacted for over a year due to COVID-19 and we appreciate the patience of our residents and their adherence to health and safety guidelines,” Jim Puffalt, City Manager said in a statement. “We are happy to introduce these new, permanent hours at City Hall and will look forward to lifting other restrictions in the future in accordance with the provincial government’s Reopen Saskatchewan plan.”

As part of the new hours the need to be temperature checked to enter City Hall will be eliminated on May 31st.

There will still be pandemic prevention procedures still in effect at City Hall until further notice:

• A security desk is set up inside the main entrance doors to the lobby and controlled by a Commissionaire, who will screen all visitors.

• All visitors will be required to sign in and out.

• Current province-wide masking and physical distancing mandates will remain in place.

• Appointments are required for meetings with City Administration or Mayor.

• Maximum attendance at City Council meetings is 30 (including members of Council and Administration).
