If you took a quick glance down the Fourth Avenue Bridge (Thunderbird Viaduct) it would appear a group of poorly skilled graffiti artists have descended on the 90 year structure during its five day long closure.

And no this is not the art of some post apocalyptic world yet - despite what numerous motorists may think about the structure.

The “artwork” you are seeing is actually spray paint used by the inspection team to mark coordinates as well as deficiencies detected during the detailed assessment of the structure.

The paint is not of a permanent nature.

The detailed assessment continues today and is set to wrap up in a few more days.

During the major assessment period the City has detoured traffic to the 9th Avenue Bridge as well as the 1st Avenue SW subway.
