No More Free Parking

It’s a spot you like to land on when all of the properties are bought and filled with hotels in Monopoly but watch out if you don’t.

Commencing September 8th the City of Moose Jaw will no longer be allowing Free Parking at its metered parking spots and parking tickets will be issued.

The Free Parking was provided as an economic measure to lessen the impact of the COVID - 19 pandemic in April.

At the time it was offered the Downtown was described as deserted due to mandatory shop and restaurant closures under the Government of Saskatchewan's declared State of Emergency.

So far the City has requested on two seperate occasions motorists abide by the two hour time limit.

Two Downtown merchants had complained to MJ Independent about Downtown employees parking in spots all day and not moving their vehicles.
