City To Open The Taps On New Line

If you live in certain areas of the city you may well experience a drop in your water pressure as the City will be switching over from the old east side feeder water main line to the replacement as Phase Three comes on-line.

Starting this morning until Saturday you may experience a decrease in water pressure during the switchover to the replacement line and decommissioning of the existing line.

The switchover to the replacement line has the potential to drop water pressure in the following areas only:

- East of 1st Avenue NE from Town ‘N Country Drive south to Caribou St. East

- East of 3rd Avenue NE from Caribou St. south to Manitoba St.

In anticipation of any emergencies during the switchover, such as a fire, the City has a contingency plan.

Additionally IF there is s need for the Water Security Agency to issue a boil water advisory it will be issued by the City by the following means:

In the event of a boil water advisory - one is not foreseen at this time - the City will utilize all available communication channels to spread this message including:

- Digital message boards

- Local Media
