Canucks U18 Tie Blue Jays In Saskatoon Slug Fest
An eight run sixth inning off of seven hits propelled the Moose Jaw Canucks U18 AA to a 12 - 12 tie with the Regina Blue Jays at the Quinn Stevenson Memorial Baseball Tournament in Saskatoon.
At the time of Moose Jaw’s crushing at bat the Blue Jays had an 11 - 4 lead over the Canucks AA.
Right handed Canucks’ starter Spencer Craig gave up eight hits and 11 runs over three innings. Craig recorded three strikeouts and two walks.
The Canucks had 13 hits in the game with Carson Pruden - who batted at the bottom of the order - recording four RBIs.
Another Canucks standout was Jesse Lesperance who had two hits and three stolen bases.
The Canucks scored two runs in the top of the first inning off of a Spencer Craig RBI single and Ryder Hicks grounding out to bat a runner in.
The Blue Jays were able to tie the game at the bottom of the first.
Regina took the lead at the bottom of the second when Ashlin Jones hit a single scoring two runs.
Jones led the Blue Jays offensive game with three hits.
At the present time the Canucks are waiting to see if the tie gets the team into the tournament’s semi - final.
