Pallister Heights Dominates Regionals

The Palliser Heights Huskies won the 2024 District Championship.

The Palliser Heights Huskies Bantam Boys basketball team were on home turf for Saturdays 2024 South Central District Basketball Championship and once their offence got rolling they were unstoppable.

Both of the Moose Jaw clubs, Palliser Heights and the Sunningdale Grizzlies. easily won their opening games, over Gravelbourg and Assiniboia, respectively, advancing to the Championship game.

The showdown between the two local rivals started out pretty close, with Sunningdale jumping out to an early first quarter lead (20-14) but the Huskies clawed back and wrapped up the first half with a 38-36 lead of their own.

It was in the second half where the tides turned and Palliser Heights' potent offence and suffocating defence took over.

The final score was 97- 49 for Palliser Heights.

The scoring was lead by Hudson Belsher, who scored 30 points, including six three-pointers; Caleb Artavia with 21 and Roque Murray with 20.

Nixon Mohle led the way for Sunningdale with 17.
