Palliser Boys Win Moose Jaw Invitational

2024 Moose Jaw Invitational Champions, the Palliser Heights Huskies

Moose Jaw's Boys Basketball teams cleaned house this weekend at the 2024 Moose Jaw Invitational Basketball Championship.

Four teams from the city, as well as one from Caronport and three from Swift Current competed, this weekend, at different venues around the city.

But no team was more successful than the Palliser Heights Huskies, who went on to be crowned as the Champions.

On Friday evening, Palliser, Sunningdale and Lindale all defeated schools from Swift Current, to advance to the Semi-finals, while Caronport was triumphant over St. Mary's.

Palliser then eliminated their rival, the Sunningdale Grizzlies, on Saturday morning, while Lindale out-muscled Caronport.

The final match, between Palliser Heights and the Lindale Lions took place at Sunningdale on Saturday afternoon.

It was an exhilirating, back-and-forth battle, that saw both teams holding the lead at different points throughout.

Ultimately though it was Palliser who came out on top, winning the game 45-41 and putting the final touch on a Championship weekend.

In the final game the Huskies were led by Caleb Artavia, who scored 17 points. Roque Murray and Emin Huseini with 9 points each.

For Lindale it was Cooper who led the way with 24 points and Zaid G with 8.

Caleb Artavia scored 17 points and was awarded the final game's MVP.
