Things are just peachy for the Warriors
Your Moose Jaw Warriors we’re back on home ice on Friday night, hosting the Brandon Wheat Kings.
A team who many think could be the best in the league and a team who thoroughly demolished the Warriors 9-4 only a week earlier.
The scenery was a bit different for this game though.
The Warriors were no longer without Jagger Firkus and Brayden Yager, who would both be on the ice tonight and Brandon would have their starting goalie, Carson Bjarnason, back.
All three of which were at NHL development camps while the last game was being played.

Also on the ice for the Warriors was a new Defenceman, named Aiden Ziprick, who they scooped from the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Atley Calvert got the good guys on the board extremely early, shoveling home a pass out front from Eric Alarie, for his second of the season.
Jagger Firkus scored a little bit later, showing that it didn’t matter whether or not the Wheaties had their star goalie back, they could still beat them.
Firkus’ goal came off of a rebound of a shot taken by Pavel McKenzie.
Brandon got one back before the period finished. Nolan Flamand was the scorer.
The first frame was a relatively even affair, but the Warriors goal-scoring had them up by one. It was in Period Two that the Warriors really started to lay it down; showing they can roll over the best teams in the league.
Brayden Yager brought his NHL pedigree, scoring back-to-back goals.
The first one was a blocker side wrist-shot on a Power Play and the second one he beat Bjarnason on the glove side, receiving a friendly assist from Pavel McKenzie, who really relished in the opportunity to play on a line with the team’s top dogs.

Calvert netted his second of the evening early in the third, finishing off a back door shuffle and putting his team up by four goals.
If you’ll remember, Atley Calvert became the highest single season Warriors scorer by a Moose Jaw-born player last season, scoring 40 times.
This evening’s goals will go a long way towards beating his own record this year.
Think about this.
The Warriors looked pretty damn amazing in their last two games, and they were still without the Team Captain and star defenceman, Denton Mateychuk, for both of them.
Maybe they’re gonna be pretty good after all.
The Wheat Kings added a late goal, but it was clear their crowns were more chaff than anything else.
The final score was Warriors 5, Wheaties 2.
Yager, Firkus, and goalie Jackson Ungar were the games three stars.
Yager had 2 goals and an assist in his first game back.
Firkus has 7 points in 2 games and Jackson Unger made 35 saves.
They’ll be in Regina, to play the Pats, tomorrow night.
