Pair Of Moose Jaw Teams Win Provincial Basketball Crowns
A pair of Moose Jaw teams have claimed both - gjrls and boys - 4A basketball crowns at Hoopla (the provincial high school basketball high school championships) in Prince Albert.
GIRLS 4A CHAMPIONS
The Vanier Spirits are the 2023 girls 4A high school basketball provincial champions.
The Spirits won the championship game Saturday evening against the Lumsden Angels 74 - 50.
The Spirits had earlier on Friday defeated Moose Jaw’s Central Cylones 81 - 49 to advance to the final.

BOYS 4A CHAMPIONS
The Central Cyclones repeated as the provincial 4A champions at Hoopla in Prince Albert on Saturday.
The Cyclones won the provincial championship by defeating Saskatoon Marion Graham 95 - 68.
On Friday the Cyclones advanced to the Hoopla championship by defeating Regina Johnson 100 - 57.

The other two Moose Jaw teams in the tournament were the Central Cyclones girls and the Peacock Toilers.
GIRLS 4A - Central Cyclones
In 4A girls play the Central Cyclones placed fourth in the province.
The Cyclones would be up against familiar opponents as they took on the Vanier Spirits on Friday.
The Spirits would go on to defeat the Cyclones 81 - 49.
In the bronze medal match the Cyclones would lose to Meadow Lake 74 - 42.

BOYS 5A - Peacock Toilers
In 5A boys play the Peacock Toilers senior boys lost both of their games at Hoopla.
The eighth seeded Toilers lost to the first seeded Saskatoon Holy Cross Crusaders 89 - 56.
In the consolation side of Hoopla the Toilers lost to the eventual consolation champion Regina Miller 97 - 71.
