Moose Jaw High School Curlers Finish Out Of Medals

The two curling rinks who qualified for the provincial playoffs finished shy of the medals.
For Peacock's Open Mixed a loss on Saturday evening left them in fourth place.
For the Cornerstone Christian School Girls team a tie breaker loss on Saturday left the team in fifth place.

Peacock Collegiate - Fourth Place
In open mixed competition the young Peacock team skipped by Dayne Heisler has had a good outing in Hanley.
The Peacock team had a playoff record of two wins and three losses leaving them in fourth place just outside of the medals.
The team, comprised of skip Heisler, third Kaylee Hogeboom, second Callista McQueen and lead Trevor Coxe, made their first trip to provincials.

In an interview following their winning the B Qualifier skip Heisler said he didn’t know how far the team would advance but they were going to do their best.

GIRLS
Cornerstone Christian School - Fifth Place
In girl's competition the Cornerstone team ended the provincial playdowns with a 1 win and 3 losses record.
The record was good enough for Cornerstone to finish fifth.
The team consisting of lead Nidachaya Buakaew, second Nami Tsuchiya, third Payton Fisher, skip Callen Nyhof and spare/alternate Becca Hobbs ran into strong competition in Langham.

The team is the first ever rink from the school to advance to the provincial curling playdowns.
The Cornerstone squad, initially had a goal of simply having enough players to qualify to play in the Moose Jaw city high school curling championships, became the only Moose Jaw qualifier for provincials after defeating Peacock.
