The durable Moose Jaw Warriors were looking to make it three straight wins on Saturday night. But in order to do so they’d have get through the Lake Diefenbaker Slough Sharks.
That’s right. The Lake Diefenbaker Slough Sharks.
For one night and one night only, the Swift Current Broncos re-branded themselves as the Lake Diefenbaker Slough Sharks.

The team jerseys were actually designed by a former Broncos captain named Taylor Vause, who captained the team back in 2012; back when Quinton Howden, Joel Edmundson, Dylan McIlrath and Cody Beach led the Warriors to their first 45 win season.

It was a shaky start for the tribe, as the Slough Sharks pounced on them before they could even wrap their heads around the fact they were playing a hockey game; definitely not how Jackson Unger wanted to start things out.
Caleb Wyrostok was a force in the early goings.
Scoring the opening goal just 30 seconds into the game, then following it with a second goal less than three minutes later.

Unger would, however, do a decent job of settling down.
Aside from the first few minutes he was pretty solid in goal.
The Warriors would have no choice but to play catch-up.
Despite a few solid opportunities they finished the first frame without putting a puck past the Sharks’ keeper, Reid Dyck.
One thing you might not know about the Slough Sharks is that their defence, led by Pittsburgh Penguin prospect Owen Pickering, can be pretty darn stingy when it comes to giving up goals.
They certainly weren’t giving the tribe any freebies on Saturday.
The tribe was unable to capitalize on a pair of Power Plays and remained goalless after two exhaustingly fruitless periods.

It would take a Herculean effort for Atley Calvert and the boys to complete a come-from-behind victory over the newly energized Slough Sharks squad; nonetheless, that’s what they were after as they skated onto the ice to commence the third period.
Late in the game, Josh Filmon added another for Lake Diefenbaker, his 36th goal of the season, putting an end to any resistance the Warriors were conjuring up.
Josh Filmon scored his 37th, in the waning seconds of the game to make it 4-0.
The final score was 4-0 for Lake Diefenbaker; that means the Slough Sharks and the Saskatoon Bananas are the only unbeaten teams in the WHL.
The Warriors next game is a home game, on Wednesday, against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
