Yager Named CHL's Rookie Of The Year
The Moose Jaw Warriors may not have won the big trophy in 2022 but for a new member of the team the 2022 season is one he is going to remember.
Forward Brayden Yager has been named the Canadian Hockey League’s Rookie Of The Year.
This is the second major award Yager has received for his inaugural in the Western Hockey League (WHL) having been named the winner of the WHL’s Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as WHL Rookie of the Year.
The 17 year old Saskatoon product Yager is the first Moose Jaw Warrior to be named the CHL’s Rookie OF The Year.
During the 2022 campaign with the Tribe Yager was fourth in scoring among 2005-born WHL rookies. Yager registered 59 points (34G-25A) in 63 games.
His 34 goals ranked tops among all 2005-born WHL rookies.
The 6 foot, 161 pound Yager was selected was selected third overall by the Warriors in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
In 87 career WHL regular season games, he has notched 77 points (41G-36A). Yager is listed as a top prospect eligible for the 2023 NHL Draft
