Davin Miller Wins Gold At SHSAA Wrestling Provincials
Moose Jaw high school wrestlers hit the matts in Saskatoon on Friday and Saturday in the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association (SSHSA) championships and A E Peacock Collegiate’s Davin Miller led the way bringing home the gold in the 69kg weight class.
Miller’s gold medal performance was also part of the Peacock boy’s team repeating their Regionals performance and they once again captured the boy’s team title.
In total the Moose Jaw wrestlers who qualified for provincials brought home three medals with an additional four wrestlers placing in the top six in the province.
The two day event saw 348 wrestlers from 48 high school wrestling teams from across the Province attended the 2020 SHSAA Wrestling Provincials.
The SSHSA provincial wrestling championship consisted of 12 wrestlers in each weight category. The consisting top four wrestlers that qualified at either the Saskatoon City Championships, the Regina City Championships or the Regional championships moved on to represent their High Schools at the 2020 SHSAA Wrestling Provincials held at Mount Royal in Saskatoon Feb 6th and 7th.
