WHL NOTES - Broncos Making Summer Moves
Robert Thomas
In the city "Where Life Makes Sense" the Swift Current Broncos made major moves to strengthen their on and off ice product on one of the hottest and muggiest days of the year.
The Broncos named Nathan MacDonald from Calgary as their Head of Business Operations.
MacDonald holds a Commerce Degree and recently completed his MBA in Hockey Management. He assumes the job on August 15th.
On the ice the Broncos moved to bolster their up front ranks by acquiring 18 year old forward Colum McGauley from the Kelowna Rockets. In exchange the Broncos gave up an eighth round bantam pick in 2021.
The five foot eleven and 174 pound McGauley had his inaugural season last year with the Rockets where he notched four goals and had 14 penalty minutes. McGauley was originally drafted 75th overall in the 2015 draft by the Spokane Chiefs.
This season the Broncos are not only in a rebuild year for the team but the head office as well
