Fourth Avenue Bridge Temporarily Closing For Repairs

The City would like to advise residents that starting Monday the Fourth Avenue Bridge will be closed for five days (weather permitting) to allow repairs.

While repairs are being made the City asks drivers to use Main Street South (subway) and 9th Avenue to travel between north and south hill.

The condition of the bridge has been a major area of concern for a number of years and the City is now trying to negotiate a cost sharing agreement with the railway to fund major repairs and redesign.

So far there is no agreement.
