Police Euthanize Aggressive Cow
Submitted by the Moose Jaw Police Service
The Moose Jaw Police Service received a report of a cow on the loose at various locations near the 4th Avenue Bridge.
The cow was showing aggressive behaviour and evaded all attempts to safely corral it.
Additionally, the cow traveled through nearby residential yards and neighbourhoods, which caused a public safety risk to pedestrians and vehicles. Police also discovered that the cow struck a vehicle causing significant damage.
After consultations with livestock professionals, it was determined there were no other options to safely contain and corral the cow. As a result of the incident, the cow was euthanized and turned over to a nearby livestock agency for transport.
No residents or Police officers were injured in this incident.
