City To Hold Hazardous Household Waste Day On Saturday
The City of Moose Jaw would like to remind residents that this Saturday August 26th is the second of two Household Hazardous Waste days being held this year.
From 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. residents are invited to safely dispose of unwanted household chemicals and other hazardous materials that are potentially harmful if they enter the environment.
The day is for residential homeowners to safely dispose of hazardous waste, and it’s not intended for business use-
The service is free of charge, at the City Complex, 1010 High St. West.
Among materials accepted:
- Aerosol Cans (Hair Spray, deodorant, household cleaners etc.)
- Liquid household cleaners
- Batteries (Lithium ion, alkaline, rechargeable etc.)
- Light bulbs (Fluorescent, LED, metal halide etc.)
The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that they can dispose of oil, oil filters, oil containers and antifreeze free of charge at the City landfill during regular hours of operation.
Additionally, unwanted paint and electronics may be taken to SARCAN for recycling.
The City of Moose Jaw has committed to holding two Hazardous Household Waste days every year.
