During the second week commencing August 28th milling and paving the intersection.
The traffic accommodation and detouring for Phase Two will be extensive, with traffic being re-routed along the west service road and around Diefenbaker Drive.
Access through the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds off of Diefenbaker Drive will not be available as the north entrance road is undergoing major repairs and the gate is locked.
The City advises the entire project will take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
This project is the continuation and completion of the Ministry of Highways work on Main Street that occurred in 2022. The repaving of the intersection is funded by the Ministry of Highways.
Better access to the Trans-Canada Highway and #2 Highway North without any detours is through accessing off of 9th Avenue NW or 9th Avenue NE.
The work area will see significant detours in place during the project.
All businesses in the construction area will remain open.
The City asks all drivers to obey posted signage and slow down in work zones for the safety of everyone.
