Heavy Footed Driver Loses Vehicle For Seven Days
Driving with a really heavy foot will likely cost a driver a pretty penny and the loss of their vehicle for a week.
According to a social media post the Moose Jaw Police Services Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) clocked a driver traveling 182 km/hr on a 110 km/hr zone.
The resulting fine to the driver was a $1,044 traffic ticket and a vehicle impoundment for seven days.
The Moose Jaw Police Service's CTSS is part of a 100 percent provincial government and SGI funded unit that allows MJPS and other police services to deploy traffic patrols throughout the province.
CTSS is comprised of the RCMP and other municipal police forces with as the name implies an emphasis on traffic safety with a province-wide mandate.
The driver in this alleged incident was not caught within Moose Jaw city limits as there is no roadway with a 110 km/hr within the city.
Under the agreement 40 percent of the MJPS unit's time is patrolling inside Moose Jaw.
The CTSS units from the RCMP are regularly patrolling Moose Jaw streets as part of their mandate and jurisdiction.
