Final Draft Of Parks And Recreation Plan Open For Comment
It’s not 2 am but the City of Moose Jaw has issued the last call for the public and stakeholders to review and add input into the new Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
Since April of 2022, the City of Moose Jaw Parks and Recreation Department has worked closely with consulting firms EDS Group Inc. and Quantum Recreation to develop the plan.
The goal is to develop a user friendly plan - which will be used over the next 10 years.
The Master Plan will provide planning guidelines and recommendations for the Parks and Recreation Department.
During the development of the final draft community feedback was received through surveys, focus groups,
the project website, and community meetings have been implemented into the final draft of the plan.
At the present time there are over 40 recommendations designed to help prioritize and strategically guide programming and parks/facility infrastructure development and renewal in the future.
“The feedback received over the last 10 months has been vital in developing a community-driven strategy that will guide the delivery and continuous improvement of recreation and parks programs, services, and facilities over the next ten years,” Derek Blais, Director of Parks and Recreation said in a statement.
“We are very excited to be entering into the final phase of the Parks & Recreation Master Plan development and thank everyone who has participated in the plan development process to date,” Blais said in the release.
Residents and stakeholders are strongly encouraged to visit https://parksmasterplan.com/moosejaw/ to view the draft plan and to submit and final comments and questions prior to Monday, January 23, 2023.
The review of the draft plan is the final opportunity for residents and stakeholders to offer feedback on the Parks and Recreation Master Plan and recommendations before it is finalized and presented to City
Council for formal adoption in February 2023.
