Highway To Heroes Car Show Taking Hot Weather Precautions
With Environment Canada calling for sunny weather and a the temperature over 30C on Saturday (July 16) the organizers of Saturday’s Highway to Heroes Car Show have precautions in place with respect to the hot weather advisory.
Roy LaBuick, chairman of the car show and president of the Friends of the Forces Fellowship, advises that car show exhibitors and spectators will have full access to air conditioned buildings on the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds.
“With temperatures expected in the Plus 35 C range, we want everyone involved with the show to be aware of the weather advisory and steps being taken to keep everyone safe,” LaBuick said.
St. John Ambulance and Medavie Health Services will be in attendance throughout the day to provide any necessary assistance.
Food vendors are expected to have ample supplies of water available and volunteers will be checked regularly to ensure they stay hydrated.
In addition, organizers will have a supply of sun screen on hand.
Participants are also urged to bring hats for extra protection.
“We want the show to be an enjoyable but safe experience for everyone involved,” LaBuick said.
