Tragic Incident Occurs On Paratransit Bus
The City of Moose Jaw has released details about a tragic incident yesterday at 12:20 pm involving a paratransit bus.
At the present time an investigation into the incident is underway.
“An investigation is underway and the Paratransit bus involved in the incident has been temporarily removed from operation. The City will notify scheduled customers if service will be affected,” a statement from the City states.
The statement does not release further details of the incident but a source familiar with the incident - who asked to remain anonymous as they are not allowed to speak publicly about the incident - told MJ Independent the tragedy involved the paratransit bus's lift falling.
“The City of Moose Jaw sends our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of our customer” Jim Puffalt, City Manager said in a statement.
“We commend Medavie Health Services West – Moose Jaw, Moose Jaw Fire Department, staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital and the Moose Jaw Police Service for their quick response to the scene. This is a difficult time for all involved, and the City awaits the results of the investigation,” Puffalt said in a statement.
The City is not releasing any further details at this time.
