Outbreak Declared At Sacred Heart School
There are now two confirmed outbreaks of COVID - 19 in Moose Jaw’s elementary schools.
One outbreak is at Prairie South School Division’s - King George School; and the other outbreak is at the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division’s - Sacred Heart School.
In a September 17th letter (pictured below) to parents, visitors and students at Sacred Heart School the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) says Public Health is “investigating multiple cases of COVID - 19 at Sacred Heart School.”
The letter advises that if “anyone develops symptoms, they must self isolate at home and seek testing immediately.”
It is unknown how many cases of COVID - 19 have been confirmed at Sacred Heart School but the SHA defines an outbreak as involving two people with connected cases at a public building with the cases not necessarily occurring that the same time.
The SHA letter advises additional measures being taken are to cohort classrooms, cancel events involving the whole school and extracurricular activities and that those who have pre-existing conditions to consider online learning opportunities.
