Spray Parks May Open Earlier Than Scheduled

With the daily high temperature predicted to hit 35C this Thursday the question is will the spray parks be open.

According to Scott Osmachenko, recreation services manager for the City of Moose Jaw, the spray parks will not be open this week but there is a strong chance they will be open earlier than the scheduled June 14th.

“We’re looking for earlier than June 14th,” Osmachenko said, adding the spray parks still needed to receive “a safety check and make sure it is working.”

Whether the spray parks will be opened early is dependent on the safety checks being completed and if the weather forecast calls for warmer weather.

Once the spray parks are turned on they are turned on for the entire season.

Spray parks have timers on them that users engage allowing the water to flow for 20 minutes and can be re-triggered by the users.

“They work well with a number of ages,” he said about the spray parks. “Spray parks are a great activity.”
