Premier Says Drive-Thru Vaccination Clinic Coming To Moose Jaw
Regina’s COVID - 19 drive thru clinic is so popular they have temporarily run out of vaccines. If you have not been able to make it to Regina’s drive-thru COVID - 19 vaccination clinic there will soon be one coming to Moose Jaw as part of an expanded vaccination program.
Speaking on John Gormley Live on March 24th Premier Scott Moe told host John Gormley Moose Jaw will be one of three cities to soon have a drive-thru clinic set up.
“Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and Yorkton are likely to have a drive-thru clinic,” Premier Moe said adding the clinics are likely to be open by the end of March.
The Regina drive-thru clinic will also re-open when additional stocks of vaccine are available.
The four drive-in clinics will all use the AstraZeneca vaccine, he said.
The Premier released no other details about the planned Moose Jaw drive-thru clinic.
AstraZeneca is the vaccine critics charge is a risk due to European reports of some individuals having blood clot complications after being administered the vaccine. Health Canada and other officials have said the vaccine is safe and the benefits of it far outweigh any risks.
The rise of Variants of Concern (VOC) or mutations of the coronavirus which causes COVID - 19 has provincial health authorities concerned as the new variants are more readily transmissible than the original virus. Over time all viruses mutate to better adapt to their hosts.
VOCs are presently fueling a major COVID - 19 outbreak in Regina where a large majority of people contracting the virus is below the age of 50.
