Deep Freeze Set To Continue
If you are stretched to the limit when it comes to the bitterly cold temperatures that have hit Moose Jaw just remember the old saying from the late 1970’s “Hang In There Baby” as the worst has passed and there are only a few more days to go until we see a warming trend.
According to the latest forecast from Environment Canada the extremely cold temperatures (the low temperature on Sunday was -35.2C) which saw school bus operational suspensions, cars failing to start and shivers running up your spine is set to end by this Sunday as the daytime high temperature is predicted to hit a tropical -13C.
The bitterly cold weather developed as a arctic high pressure ridge pushed cold weather southward to blanket southern Saskatchewan.
The weather was so cold on Sunday that Uranium City with a low temperature of -48.9 C was declared the Coldest Place On Earth. On Sunday the Vostok Station in Antarctica registered a low temperature of -46 C.
