Nominations Open For Council And School Divisions

If you are thinking about running for either a position on City of Moose Jaw Council or one of the two school divisions today is the opening day for nominations.

Those wishing to run for either the Mayor or a Councillor may pick up the nomination package from the Commissionaire’s desk at City Hall, 228 Main St. North OR you can download from the City’s 2020 Election web page which is located by clicking here.

In order to attract more qualified candidates Council has voted for raises over 20 percent the current rate of remuneration for both the Mayor and Councillor positions with all raises effective once the new Council is elected.

School Board nomination forms may be picked up from the respective school board offices or from their respective web pages.

For Holy Trinity Catholic School Divsion the prospective candidate must be of the Roman Catholic faith. Candidate forms are available on the division’s web-site www.htcsd.ca .

Prairie South School Division nomination forms are available at City Hall and the division’s web-site www.prairiesouth.ca

All prospective candidates must file their nomination papers by October 7th at 4 pm with the withdrawl date being October 8th at 4 pm.
