Habitat For Humanity Looking For Applicants For Two New Homes

Are you looking for a place to call home and are you struggling in the traditional home market?

If you meet the criteria then Habitat For Humanity might be exactly what you are looking for.

And if you live in Moose Jaw then Habitat For Humanity is looking for two families to be awarded one of the two new homes they are set to build.

“We are so excited to begin this build and select the new families for the Habitat Homeownership Program,” Kelly Holmes-Binns, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Regina said in a statement. “This is a life-changing experience for these families, made possible by the generosity of individuals and businesses in the community.”

Despite what some may think Habitat For Humanity homes are not free but they do offer families the opportunity to purchase a new home when they may not qualify for a traditional mortgage.

To qualify for this opportunity, families must apply and meet certain criteria, including minimum income requirements and demonstrate a willingness to partner with Habitat Regina – Moose Jaw Chapter through volunteerism.

Families who are chosen purchase a Habitat home with a zero down payment, interest free mortgage with monthly payments set at 25 percent of the family’s gross annual household income.

Habitat Regina – Moose Jaw Chapter is set to start construction of a duplex, located at 1015 Ominica Street East, later this fall.
