Snowbirds Returning On Monday

MOOSE JAW – 15 Wing Moose Jaw Honourary Colonel Lisa Franks, the City of Moose Jaw and Tourism Moose Jaw ask Moose Javians to “Show Your Hearts” to welcome the Canadian Forces Snowbirds home.

The Snowbirds 431 Air Demonstration team and their personnel are arriving in Moose Jaw Monday, May 25 between 2:30-3:00 p.m. (

A more precise time will be communicated Monday morning) in a Hercules transport aircraft. Residents are invited to make large hearts in sidewalk chalk or other creative displays to show that the community is offering their love and support in memory of Captain Jennifer Casey, who passed away Sunday, May 17 in a tragic Snowbirds crash in Kamloops, B.C.

Moose Jaw Fire Department, Moose Jaw Police Service and Moose Jaw & District Paramedics will provide a static display of vehicles in the shape of a heart in the Exhibition grounds to be visible by the plane upon the return.

Additionally, Wakamow Valley Authority is mowing a big heart at the bottom of 4th Avenue South.

In addition, the family of Captain Casey is asking that; “In lieu of flowers please donate and support your local SPCA, plant a couple of trees in her honour or donate to your local food bank and support those in need. If you are not in a position to do any of the above, please simply kick back on your deck, crack open a local brew and turn the volume up on The Hip in her memory." (

The Snowbirds put on a show for us, showcasing their skills and teamwork. Now it’s time for the community to put on a show of love and support for them as they return home.
