Finishing Off Phase Four Of Cast Iron Replacement

Contractors are out finishing up Phase Four of the Cast Iron Water Main replacement program in two separate areas of the city.

Although Phase Four was scheduled to be completed in 2019 there is still some work to finish off over the next couple of weeks if the weather cooperates.

At the present time crews are out doing the remaining pavement and concrete work on 3rd Avenue NE between Caribou Street East and Athabasca Street East.

Once they are finished there they will be moving to Stadacona St NW from Twelfth Ave NW to Eleventh Ave NW to complete the same work.

The underground work for Phase Four was completed last year.

The City asks motorists to follow all signage and plan your trip accordingly.

At the present time 3rd Avenue NE from Caribou St East to Athabasca St East is closed with traffic detoured around the block.

Phase Five of the Cast Iron Water Main Replacement program is set to get underway May 20th on the 200 block of High Street West.
