In a move which hints other communities have Covid - 19 and the Gravelbourg does not the Town has issued a notice to residents to shop local.
As part of update to residents the Town of Gravelbourg has stated shopping locally does not only support local businesses but it also about community safety as advised by the town's three physicians. (See the update below)

“Do you want to be the source of Covid - 19 getting to our Community?” the update continued adding the local business community had been extremely cooperative with the local Emergency Measures Organizations.
Gravelbourg declared its own local State of Emergency on March which closed most businesses to customer access. This was done in advance of provincial measures that are similar but not as restrictive as the Gravelbourg measures which were announced on March 21st.
Premier Scott Moe would say publicly that locally declared State of Emergencies were not allowed to supersede the Province's measures. The Premier's comments were in response State of Emergencies declared in both Gravelbourg and Regina.
At the time of declaring the local State of Emergency Gravelbourg officials called upon other communities provincially and nation-wide to follow their example.
The Chief Medical Officer and Province have additionally announced they will not provide which smaller communities - including Gravelbourg - have confirmed cases of Covid - 19. The measure is being taken to protect privacy.
The update also reminds residents returning from abroad they must self isolate for a period of 14 days which means remaining in their homes during that time. Gravelbourg has many residents who spend their Winters in warmer southern locales - commonly referred to as snowbirds.
Additionally the update provides information about shopping by phone or email at the local Co-op which has closed its doors to walk-in shoppers. Residents are reminded they are only allowed to place orders once a week.
