Jan Pogorzelec (Rice) Seeking Position On Prairie South Board
Prairie South School Divison has another candidate for Subdivision Six as Jan Pogorzelec (Rice) has been nominated for election. Subdivison Six (Moose Jaw) has five Board Members At Large.
According to her on-line profile Pogorzelec is a firm believer in the three R’s - reading, writing and arithmetic - in the educational system.
“ I believe in charting a clear direction which will advantage learning opportunities for students and represent families and educational partners. I want to see students exceed in the foundational subjects: reading, writing and math and maintain and sustain a passion for learning,” her on-line profile reads.
Pogorzelec would also like to see the supports available to all students to give them the best opportunities to succeed. She is also committed to open and transparent communication.
She has recently returned to Moose Jaw after spending 35 years in education in Saskatchewan having served as teacher, principal, counsellor, Coordinator of Curriculum and Special Education, Director and completing my career as a Superintendent of Schools with the Chinook School Division.
Growing up on a farm near Tuxford people knew her under her maiden name Janice Rice.
