Heat Warning Issued For Moose Jaw And Area
With the temperatures soaring and higher humidity Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a heat warning for Moose Jaw and surrounding area.
According to a news release a hot and humid airmass will be moving into southern Saskatchewan today will remain in place for a few days.
Daytime highs are forecast to be around 32 degrees celsius with overnight lows near 16 degrees celsius.
Extreme heat affects everyone.
Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
Watch for the symptoms of heat illness: dizziness/fainting; nausea/vomiting; rapid breathing and heartbeat; extreme thirst; decreased urination with unusually dark urine.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
