Swift Current to Host Hockey Day in Canada

Moose Jaw has hosted it and now it’s Swift Current’s turn as Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada invades Speedy Creek this February.

The four-day festival runs from February 6th to February 9th, 2019.

As part of the festival, the Swift Current Broncos will be hosting an Alumni & Celebrity Classic hockey game on February 8th 2019, at 7:30 PM. The game is planned as a celebration of the game of hockey with the amazing fans of Swift Current according to a news release.

The Alumni & Celebrity Classic will include a number of Hockey legends, including several Broncos Alumni. The game will have specific tributes to the 1988-89 Memorial Cup Champions Swift Current Broncos team, and we will have several players join from that team and era in order to celebrate their achievements and contributions to our community.

Some of the notable Celebrity/Alumni Players confirmed to date are:

Lanny McDonald, Darcy Tucker, Ron Maclean, Wendel Clark, Chris Phillips, Chris Neal, Andrew Ference, Tim Tisdale, Sheldon Kennedy, Kimbi Daniels, Trent McCleary, Travis Moen and more to be announced.
