Moose Jaw Events Celebrates the RCAF 100th Anniversary

Community organizations of Moose Jaw are recognizing the importance that 15 Wing and the RCAF is to the City of Moose Jaw during various events being held September 7th to September 14th, 2024.

15 Wing has a rich history in Moose Jaw as the centre of Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aircrew training with a proud Canadian tradition of training and developing pilots all the way back to the First World War.

Today, 2 Canadian Forces Flying Training School (2 CFFTS) on the base is the centre of pilot training in Canada's Air Force. 15 Wing is also home to the The Canadian Forces (CF) Snowbirds, 431 Air Demonstration Squadron.

The Snowbirds were formed in 1971 and they inspire the pursuit of excellence wherever they go in North America. This week is to celebrate the past and present of Canadian Air Force personnel and their families for their dedication and service.

*Sept 7 4pm to 11pm Homestand 24 outdoor multi-band concert at Ross Wells Park--Caribou Street at Ross Crescent
They will be recognizing the RCAF 100 with a flyby and want to precursor that with recognizing members and dignitaries of 15 Wing on stage.

*Moose Jaw Historic City Hall Clock September 9 to 12 – Lighting It Blue to Celebrate the RCAF 100th Anniversary this year.

*Rotary Club of Wakamow Moose Jaw Canadian and RCAF 100 Flags flown on Main Street by the Armoury 1215 Main St North.

September 7th to 14th
*Western Development Museum Moose Jaw 50 Diefenbaker Drive Moose Jaw
British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP) exhibit in honour of the Moose Jaw RCAF 100 2024 Celebrations.

The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) is a part of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces. 2024 marks 100 years of the RCAF.

The WDM Moose Jaw is commemorating this important date by highlighting the role that the RCAF played in Canadian history, particularly in regard to the Second World War.

The WDM Moose Jaw will provide guided tours (20 – 30 minutes) of the BCATP Gallery on select days/times.

Tours are included with regular Museum admission. Free for WDM members.
All military personnel receive a 10% discount on Museum admission.

Double Feature Top Gun movies, drinks, popcorn and a special "Top Gun" cocktail!
Doors open 1/2 hour before start time.
$15/movie or both for $20.
WE INVITE ALL MILITARY PERSONNEL TO ATTEND FOR FREE.


3 PM - Top Gun (1986) - The Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School is where the best of the best train to refine their elite flying skills. When hotshot fighter pilot Maverick is sent to the school, his reckless attitude and cocky demeanor put him at odds with the other pilots, especially the cool and collected Iceman.

7 PM - Top Gun Maverick (2022) - The story involves Maverick confronting his past while training a group of younger Top Gun graduates, including the son of his deceased best friend, for a dangerous mission.
