Trucks Were There For The Touching And Climbing Into

By Robert Thomas

For a few short hours Moose Jaw’s younger children had the opportunity to climb in, blow horns and play with all of the fancy controls as the Moose Jaw Early Years Family Resource Centre and the Moose Jaw Events Centre held a “Touch A Truck” day at the former Mosaic Place.

The event saw 1st Avenue NW closed from Manitoba Street to High Street to allow children and their families the opportunity to see now just trucks, but buses, equipment, a fire truck and even a police car and speak to their operators.
The free family event gave children the opportunity to not only touch and climb into the various vehicles but also gave children the opportunity to interact with the “heroes” who drive and operate them. There was the opportunity to blast air horns, hear sirens, sit behind the driver’s seat and learn about safety.

The FREE event runs until 3 pm this afternoon.
