BMO Sponsorship Allows Free Admission Day Tomorrow At The WDM
“Come back to the WDM if you haven’t had the opportunity to do so, just do it,” says Kathy Fitton manager of Moose Jaw’s Western Development Museum (WDM).
Fitton is excited about a new sponsorship the WDMs throughout Saskatchewan have with the Bank of Montreal (BMO).
As part of that sponsorship all four WDMs in Saskatchewan (Moose Jaw, Yorkton, North Battleford and Saskatoon) will be offering two days of free admission to everyone on special days over the next three years.
“It’s a wonderful gift to the community.”
Tomorrow WDMs province-wide will be offering their first of two free admission days. The second free admission day sponsored by BMO will be September 17th.
“It’s a great opportunity for the community to come out and see the museum,” she said, adding “it is very generous of the bank to sponsor us to allow us to offer this to the community.”
She said the BMO sponsorship will allow people who may not be able to afford the admission fee to come out and explore what the museum has to offer as well as with inflation there are many people who are looking free opportunities of things to do.
Although the WDM was only closed a few months due to COVID - 19 pandemic restrictions Fitton said the free day is an opportunity to re-introduce the museum to the community.
Activities at the free day will allow people to come out and explore the WDM and partake in a scavenger hunt to really give the WDM a more thorough look.
The WDM is open Monday - Sunday 9 am to 5 pm.
