Phoenix Academy Students Visit Seniors On Valentine’s Day

To help cheer up seniors high school students from Phoenix Academy went on a local tour for Valentine’s Day.

Students went to Capilano Court to hand deliver carnations and Valentines to the residents as well as some staff.

They also went by the Cosmo Centre and surprised some pickle ball players as well.

The visits brightened up the seniors’ day as well as the students.

“It was a great morning to see how many smiles we put on faces and to talk to the seniors. Some were very excited to chat and were very appreciative of the visit and gift,” student Everett Palmer said.

For some seniors the students are among their few visitors so they appreciated the students’ visit.

“I liked making their day a bit better, not everyone has family around so it was really nice spending time with the residents and giving them their flowers,” student Palton Wells said.

As part of some of their classes students do community service.
