Police Warn About Visa Scam

Submitted by the Moose Jaw Police Service

Following several reports, Moose Jaw Police Service is advising the public about a scam that is circulating in the community.

Several reports have stated that the caller is using a Moose Jaw phone number and is impersonating a VISA credit card representative.

The call begins with an automated voice, stating that two fraudulent purchases have been made on your VISA credit card to Amazon or for “International Gift Cards” equalling approximately $1400.

Following this statement, the automated voice will instruct you to stay on the line or press “1” for a VISA representative.

If you become suspicious of the call, contact VISA directly and speak with a live agent.

The Moose Jaw Police Service would like to remind the public not to provide personal information over the phone.
