Spartans Win Gold in Thrilling Finale
Spartans and SaskHoops met for the second tournament Championship game in two weeks.
Spartans Win Gold in Thrilling Finale
Moose Jaw's U14 Spartans Boys team avenged their season's only loss on Sunday afternoon, capturing Gold Spartans at the Premier Prairie Classic in the process.
Spartans and SaskHoops out of Saskatoon were familiar foes. They'd met the previous weekend, in the Championship game of the Huskies Prairie Dog Tournament at the University of Saskatoon. SaskHoops got the better of the two in that one.
However, it was your hometown Spartans who came out victorious in the re-match Sunday at Peacock Collegiate, after a nail-biting, back-and-forth showdown, which came right down to the final whistle. Both teams showed a tremendous amount of skill, heart and fortitude.
The final score was 83-80 for Spartans.
