Residential Free Organic Waste Dumping Days This Weekend

With yards being cleaned out after winter the City is offering free household organic yard waste dumping at the landfill over the May long weekend (May 18 - May 20).

Over the three days the City will be waiving the $10 tipping fee to residents - residents are allowed to dump their organic waste including leaves, grass clipping and branches no larger than one inch in diameter.

The City requires all organic waste be bagged in clear or orange bags to allow for easier inspection.

A special area has been set aside for dumping the organic waste and to allow for load inspection.

Loads containing household and other waste will be sent to the appropriate area for dumping and the tipping fee will be charged.

Residents are allowed to use a half ton truck or a single axle trailer to take advantage of the free tipping fees.

Dual axle trailers and commercial vehicles are not eligible for the waiving of tipping fees.

The City is also requiring all loads be properly tarped. Failure to tarp a load could lead to being issued a ticket.
