Councillor Gives Notice Of Motion Regarding Pothole Pandemic
By Robert Thomas
With potholes seemingly an endless task and many of Moose Jaw’s roads in rough shape one councillor would like to see more work done.
Even if that means bringing in the private sector to help out the City crews to get the work done.
At the regular Monday afternoon meeting Councillor Dawn Luhning put forth a notice of motion looking into the feasibility of adding private companies to help out with pothole repairs.

At the next meeting Administration bring forth a report to City Council for the June 26th, 2023 meeting to contract out filling potholes around the city effective immediately.”
As with all notices of motion there is no discussion until the following meeting or when the issue comes back at a later council meeting.
In a previous media scrum Mayor Clive Tolley said the condition of Moose Jaw’s roads was not just a local problem but something happening in many municipalities - the lack of money to conduct repairs.
“We are in a dilemma all Canadian municipalities are that is we don’t have enough money to fix our infrastructure and it’s always deteriorating,” the Mayor said at that scrum.
