Poll Shows Most Canadians Now Seriously Inflation Impacted

If you think times are tough and you are out of money you are not alone.

According to a recent survey by Ipsos Reid, on behalf of Global News, 22 percent of Canadians “say they are completely out of money, saying there is no way they can pay more for household necessities.”

The figure is up three points from the last poll conducted in October of last year.

For 32 percent of other respondents when it comes to inflation and the rising costs of necessities - food, clothing, transportation and shelter said they would have to make major spending changes due to higher costs and inflation.

The figure is up two points from October 2022.

The poll now shows the majority of Canadians as heavily impacted by inflation and other associated rising costs.

The poll also showed the people most impacted from inflation were those with incomes under $40,000 and women.

For people with incomes under $40,000 a total of 35 percent of respondents said they were completely tapped out.

While for women 28 percent versus 15 percent gor men say they have no money to pay for the rising costs of necessities.

The poll sampled 1,001 people from age 18 and up and the poll is accurate to within ± 3.5 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
