It took some battling and a ton of hard work but eventually the Warriors were able to crack the Wheaties goalie Carter Bjarnason, who wasn’t giving up anything easy.
The goal came on a Power Play when Harper Lolacher knocked home a Martin Rysavy rebound.

The score was level at one each when the teams went into the dressing room for the second intermission.
The third period, in no way, resembled the first two. The Warriors jumped all over the Wheat Kings, sticking them for four unanswered goals and cruising to a relatively easy victory.
Atley Calvert gave them the lead at 7:36, tipping in a Denton Mateychuk shot. That goal was Calvert’s team leading 27th.

Ryder Korczak scored the insurance goal five minutes later. It was Rocket Ryder ripping the one-timer on a Maximus Wanner assist. Less than a minute later, Korczak did it again, this time deflecting a shot from Logan Dowhaniuk past Bjarnason for the 4-1 lead.
Then, in the 16th minute, Lolacher netted himself a second goal too, opting to shoot on a two-on-one, rather than pass. That was all they needed to seal the deal.
Warriors 5, Wheat Kings 1
Multi-point nights from Mateychuk, Alarie, Korczak, Dowhaniuk and Lolacher. Connor Ungar was sharp once again, saving 32 of 33 shots.
Korczak, Lolacher and Dowhaniuk were the game’s three stars.
