Flyers Wrap Up Playoff Series With Any Easy Victory
Game One may have been a long and grueling affair but in Game Two the Milestone 18A Female Flyers easily disposed of the Balcarres Barracudas to easily wrap their Saskatchewan Female Hockey League play off series.
The Flyers defeated the Barracudas 5 - 1 powered by former Moose Jaw Mavericks products Ember DuSomme and Sidney Ellingson each with four points and Nikita Halyk with two points in the victory.
Balcarres opened the scoring in the First Period when Jaylyn Keisig scored a powerplay goal at the 15:10 mark assisted by Maddie Bray and Jazmin Macknak.
The Flyers responded tying the game at 11:47 when Ellingson scored a short handed goal assisted by Callie Callaghan.
The Second Period saw the Flyers come out and dominate play as they got the bounces and started to amass the goals.
At the 17:13 mark DuSomme would score a powerplay goal assisted by Ellingson.
Less than 10 seconds later Halyk would score at the 17:05 assisted by DuSomme and Ellingson.
At the 16:16 mark Halyk would score what turned out to be the insurance marker assisted by Ellingson and DuSomme.
The Third Period would see DuSomme score an unassisted powerplay goal at the 11:09 mark.
The Flyers now advance to the south championship where they will face the Prairie Storm Thunder this Thursday in White City with Game Two Saturday in Milestone.
