Fresh off of a gutsy win over the league’s best team, your Moose Jaw Warriors were back on the ice at the Hangar, hoping to keep that momentum going against division rivals the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Brandon hasn’t been all that great this season but they did beat Moose Jaw in their first meeting; and the familiar foe has long been known as a team that plays tough against the tribe.
Moose Jaw scored twice, early in the first period, jumping out to a great start.
The first goal was by Ryder Korczak, who had scored a Hat-Trick in their last game.
Then, just 20 seconds later, Harper Lolacher notched his seventh of the season, shovelling home a rebound from a missed Jagger Firkus snipe. The Warriors were cruising. Up by 2.

The wheels fell off after that though, in real bad fashion.
Brandon eleven unanswered goals.
Two of them in Period One, evening the score before the intermission.
Then an onslaught of scoring to kick off the second period that saw the Wheat Kings, at one point, score four goals in less than two minutes.
Coach Mark O’Leary was forced to pull starting goalie Jackson Unger and replace him with the dependable Connor Ungar.
But the Wheaties got to Ungar too. Scoring thrice more in the period.
The Warriors were enduring a collapse of epic proportions. Brandon was all over them.
Outplaying them and out-shooting them.
It looked almost as if a professional team were playing against children.
By the finish of Period 2 Brandon was leading 8-2, with 8 different scorers.
Notably, Nate Danielson had notched his 17th and Brett Hyland his 18th while the former Moose Jaw Warrior, Calder Anderson scored his 8th.

The Warriors were out-shot 20-6 in Period 2.
It’s interesting how a team can go from gutting out a tough victory over the toughest team in the league to getting walloped, embarrassingly, by a sub .500 team.
That’s the sport we love.
Things only got worse for the Warriors in the 3rd.
Brandon scored 3 more times, rubbing a little salt in the Warriors wounds.
The final score was 11-2 for Brandon.
It was a really bad night for the home team.
There isn’t a lot of positive to take away from games like this.
They’ll be in Brandon tomorrow night with the chance to get some redemption.
