MJPS Pitches In With Community Clean Up Efforts

It may have been snowing intensely with the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) busy trying to assist motorists traverse the treacherous streets this past Tuesday but they also took the time to remove some of the garbage that is in the city.

According to the force’s Calls Of Service for April 13 - April 14 at 9:13 am the MJPS assisted in cleaning up some trash and getting it back to its proper and rightful owner.

Listed as a suspicious occurrence the MJPS assisted in having the owner of some garbage to return and collect the items they had dumped in an alley. The Calls Of Service does not list where it happened due to the restrictions under the provincial privacy act.

In the time just up prior to helping get the garbage back to its rightful owner the MJPS assisted a semi that could not move as well as another vehicle blocking traffic due to the road conditions.

Later in the day they issued a ticket to someone operating a snowmobile in City limits and found an elderly person safely returning the individual home during the storm.

The City recently organized a Community Clean Up Committee to help keep the City of Moose Jaw clean as unknown people have been tossing their trash and their dogs leaving their ‘items’ where they should not. The Committee’s goal is to try to co-ordinate and drive the cleaning up of litter throughout the city making Moose Jaw more attractive to residents and visitors alike.
