Two COVID - 19 Outbreaks Declared In Moose Jaw

A pair of public facilities have declared outbreaks of COVID - 19 by Saskatchewan Health.

An outbreak is declared when two or more people test positive for COVID‐19 and are all linked to a specific non-household setting or event within a specified time period.

The declaration of an outbreak does not indicate a threat to the community but it allows the mobilization of additional resources if required to prevent the further spread of COVID - 19. The declaration of an outbreak allows the information to be shared on the sask,ca COVID-19 site. Additionally local Public Health authorities must contact the Minister of Health.

The two facilities with a declared outbreak are Extendicare on November 12 and Prince Arthur School on November 13.

In the case of Extendicare the outbreak is restricted to one wing of the facility.

In the case of Prince Arthur School there has been three recent cases of COVID - 19.
