Repairs Underway

With a large number of water main breaks due to a combination of older past lifespan pipes and recent weather conditions there is a lot of repair work underway there are a number of road closures and restrictions in the city.
Here is one from Tuesday near the corner of 6th Ave NW and Oxford Street West.
As of Wednesday the City listed a number of road or partial road closures due to water leaks, pipebursts, service leaks and water main breaks.
During Budget Committee discussions the committee was told it would be approximately five more years until the cast iron water main replacement program would have sufficient enough pipe in the ground to reverse the trend.
